Family Law

Family Law & Protective Injunctions

Sensitive, practical guidance on protection, separation and arrangements for children, with safety and the welfare of the child at the centre of the discussion.

Non-molestation & occupation orders

Advice on protection from abuse, threats or harassment by an associated person, and occupation orders governing who can live in or enter the family home. SRA-regulated solicitors working through appropriately authorised arrangements can prepare and carry out court applications, including form FL401, supporting witness statements, urgent without-notice relief where justified, service and return hearings. Breach of a non-molestation order can be a criminal offence.

Children & separation

Guidance on child arrangements, parental responsibility, specific issue and prohibited steps orders, and safeguarding concerns. We discuss mediation and the usual MIAM requirement before relevant court applications, including domestic-abuse and urgency exemptions.

Divorce & finances

Explaining no-fault divorce and dissolution, financial disclosure, property, pensions, maintenance and consent orders. A divorce alone does not settle financial claims; specialist representation may be needed for contested proceedings or complex assets. In immediate danger, call 999.

Other protective & civil injunctions

Advice on harassment injunctions and other appropriate civil remedies, including urgent interim relief. Domestic abuse protection orders may be relevant where the scheme is available. Eligibility, evidence, notice, undertakings and the consequences of breach differ by order; an authorised solicitor assesses the correct application and any reserved court work.
